Does anybody know of any good astronomy books? They can be recent or fairly old (but nothing before 1995). I'm not looking for a story, I'm looking for a book of facts (something to take notes from, or study from).

Not sure about books, but I check out this site first thing every morning. I love astronomy.
It's from NASA...

You might also try magazines like Sky and Telescope. You can find several magazines and books at places like Borders, Barnes and Nobles or Half Priced Books. When it comes to books, it all comes down to what specifically your trying to find out about Astronomy. History, equipment, research, Messier Objects, Planets, Constellations, there are hundreds of topics in the field.

If you want something that is technical, with some science and maths, but also easily scannable for general concepts, you could try Relativistic Astrophysics, 2: The Structure and Evolution of the Universe.

It's probably in a library or on amazon.
