Do you remember a few years back when Dale ( #3 ) drove the yellow Corvette at Daytona for the 24 hour race..he was exhausted..!!
That's a real race..not how many laps or how many miles..it's how many hours of endurance..with a few driver swaps in-between..I wonder if a Nascar car would hold up for that long? I doubt it..
a Nascar race lasts what?? about 2½ - 3 hours if that?
I would love to see Mark Martin do 24 hours at Daytona or LeMans.

There are a few drivers from NASCAR that have run in the 24 hour race at Daytona.

NASCAR cars wouldn't last for a 24 hour race because they aren't built to last that long. Just like NASCAR cars are specialized for the type of racing that they do, the 24 hour cars are specially built for that kind of endurance race.

I believe if you watch the 24hour at Daytona you would see many Nascar drivers in it every year. As far as Mark Martin you obviously know nothing about him. He is probably one of the fittest drivers in all the series and almost 50.

Talk with Unser,Montoya,Said,Fellows, Carpentier,Hornish,Almindinger,Franchini about Nascar being so easy. Look at Robbie Gorden who has raced everything with wheels including Baja around the world...Not one of those drivers have not struggled in Nascar.

Look I like all racing...The need for speed. I wouldn't take away anything from the people I have mentioned.
