I just got a call from a friend of mine...he's on a return trip from Rhode Island & seeing his kids & picking up some stuff in a U-Haul... He made the trip on a shoe-string & plans to sell the items when he gets back home... Damn economy!

So, he's stranded, about 90mi from home (he's going to Michigan from Ohio), at a Service Station with 10 bucks in his pocket & a gallon of gas in the truck tank. The toll is $13...

This is a serious question... Any ideas on how he can make it back home?

is there a pawn shop anywhere ?

Donate blood?

Or plasma....good idea.

Transfer money to his bank so that he can draw it from a cashpoint.

I do this now and again and it can be done instantly, depending on what banks are being used. But then im in England.

I agree about the plasma thing...but he's out in the boonies & I don't think he can expect a mobile blood unit to pass by... He litterally cannot go anywhere.

Would the police beable to help if he drove to the nearest station?

Also, my colleague was just telling me, here in England, you can leave your licence at the petrol station and they will give you enough petrol to get home. You have to go back and pay them of course, or they will hand your licence into the police.

I'm reminded of a sign I saw in a service station once:

"Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part!"

Sounds like your friend is reaping what he sowed. Sorry to be cold and heartless, but what did he expect?

Find a Male trucker with a Pink Cab

Tell em to talk to some truckers, they are a helpful bunch as long as the situation deems it. Also can talk to other passerby's, as it is only a few bucks I'm sure someone could spot em.
