anywhere that if you don't believe in the words of Christ your Savior or God that you are deemed to be a heathen, zealout, or infidel?
If so then why do I hear from Christians that they will never call you any of these things if you don't believe, yet if a Christian who represents the Bible and believe in what it says then you are actually agreeing that all who are not followers are heathens/infidels. Is this correct? If not then please explain. Otherwise this means to me that a Christian who follows the Bible only believes some of what is written and not all. |

Not all Christians are alike. Everybody interprets things differently.
And I'm the one that just told somebody on here that I'll never call them those things. |

Do you believe it? If not then you don't believe everything the bible teaches. If you do believe it to be correct then you don't have to say to one they are a heathen/infidel because you think it for believing it. Please explain how this works. |

The Bible doesn't call non-believers that. The Jews were commanded to treat non-Jews with respect. So the answer is no, it's not Christian to call someone a heathen, etc. |

The bible doesn't call nonbelievers these names. It is a fundamentalist view of a nonbeliever that said this and somehow lured into the air for many to believe. It is good that I know now. thank you |

Or someone who was hot tempered and lost his or her cool. |

Does the Bible say anywhere that if you don't believe in the words of Christ your Savior or God that you are deemed to be a heathen, zealout, or infidel? No, on the contrary Jesus himself said the following according to the gospel of John: John 12:47 "And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world." So any Christian who claims that those who do not believe in Jesus are somehow rejecting him or would not be recognized by him are liars. Clearly they are putting words into the mouth of Jesus that Jesus never spake. A LOT of Christians lie like hell! Seriously they do! They totally lie about what Jesus had to say. That's probably the worst thing they can possibly do with the pantheon of their religion. Any Christian that tells you that you must accept Jesus Christ as your Savior in order to be saved is lying. Jesus himself clearly stated that a belief in him or his words is not necessary. So Christians lie about Jesus all the time. They spread hate for Jesus sake. But clearly this wasn't what Jesus had in mind. Christianity is the antithesis of Christ. It's a religion that truly spits in the face of Jesus and makes no apologies for having done so. It's a religion that abuses the name of Jesus to support bigotry, hatred, religious intolerance, guilt, fear and predjudice. I love Jesus. I hate Christianity. I guess I'm like Mahatma Gandhi in that respect. He said something similar to the following: "I like your Jesus, it's your Christians I can do without". He knew. |

Or someone who was hot tempered and lost his or her cool. Well thank you for clarifying this. Now I understand. I always thought it was mentioned in the Bible. Now I know Jesus words in Matthew: 7 But <1161> when ye pray <4336> (5740), use <945> <0> not <3361> vain repetitions <945> (5661), as <5618> the heathen <1482> do: for <1063> they think <1380> (5719) that <3754> they shall be heard <1522> (5701) for <1722> their <846> much speaking <4180>. Paul says: 17 And <1161> if <1437> he shall neglect to hear <3878> (5661) them <846>, tell <2036> (5628) it unto the church <1577>: but <1161> <2532> if <1437> he neglect to hear <3878> (5661) the church <1577>, let him be <2077> (5749) unto thee <4671> as <5618> an heathen man <1482> and <2532> a publican <5057>. Strong's <1482> greek - heathen means heathen someone who does not believe in the one god jehovah. you are a heathen smiless, so is krimsa, abra, and anyone else who does not recognize and beleive jehovah to be "the" only god!! nice try spidey. |

I guess I'm like Mahatma Gandhi in that respect. He said something similar to the following: "I like your Jesus, it's your Christians I can do without". He also refused to give his wife antibiotics, which caused her to die. But his opinion on antibiotics changed completely when he got sick. They saved his life. He also said “The Jews should have offered themselves to the butcher’s knife, They should have thrown themselves into the sea from cliffs.” in discussing how the Jews should have behaved during the Holocaust. Also, Ghandi was a famous racist, who said of blacks: “Only a degree removed from the animal.” Also, “Kaffirs* are as a rule uncivilized - the convicts even more so. They are troublesome, very dirty and live almost like animals.” - Mar. 7, 1908 (Reference: CWMG, Vol VIII, pp. 135-136) Kaffir means "infidel", but it's used to describe blacks. It's a racist term similar to the n-word. Ghandi also had an adulterous affair with a married woman, while denying his own wife sex for decades. I think people think too highly of Ghandi and to compare Ghandi to Jesus is ludicrous. |

She was a militant old dear, loved to protest and fight for whats right, and met him through some womens lib group that she was involved with, i believe. I never really knew much about him though. Its a shame to learn(if its true) that he perhaps wasnt the great man he is supposed to be. I know 'Kaffir' is a word used commonly in South Africa by white people to descibe blacks, incidently. |

nice try spidey. Oh, nice try Tribo. Some people are surely fooled. But Jesus wasn't telling anyone to call someone a heathen, so my original point still stands. But instead of taking the definition of the translated word (which is never acceptable), let's go to the original... ethnikos Translated: Heathen 1) adapted to the genius or customs of a people, peculiar to a people, national 2) suited to the manners or language of foreigners, strange, foreign 3) in the NT savouring of the nature of pagans, alien to the worship of the true God, heathenish a) of the pagan, the Gentile Notice that the definitions are about conforming to the behavior of non-Jews? What Jesus was telling his followers was to not follow the example laid down by the non-Jews, but to pray as the Jews do. He was calling Jews who pray like non-Jews heathenish, he wasn't commanding his follows to call anyone a heathen. But wait, there is more! ethnos (the root word for ethnikos) 1) a multitude (whether of men or of beasts) associated or living together a) a company, troop, swarm 2) a multitude of individuals of the same nature or genus a) the human family 3) a tribe, nation, people group 4) in the OT, foreign nations not worshipping the true God, pagans, Gentiles 5) Paul uses the term for Gentile Christians Notice that Paul used this word to describe his own followers! The word Jesus was using actually means more akin to "gentile-like". It wasn't a bad word or a slur, it was simply a way of specifying that the speaker was talking about non-Jews. |

I think people think too highly of Ghandi and to compare Ghandi to Jesus is ludicrous. Who said anything about comparing Ghandi to Jesus? He merely pointed out the Christians are hypocrites. I think we can all see the truth in that, no matter who points it out. |

You should make sure to include all of the words you intend to say in your posts, because it could be confusing or offensive to someone who doesn't know you. |

yea though I walk, because I have no car, I will fear no rain drop, my umbrella protects me. Dr scholls and good socks they comfort me, they keepeth my feet from hurting, surely the price of goods and services will fall, so I won't have to walk anymore! don't have any idea why I wrote that! sorry if it is off topic, no it's not I guess. that's what that passage "says" to me when I think about it. (the mechanics of thinking: holding a conversation with ones self within their own mind) I think....................and that's OK with me
