I use an artificial Christmas tree.

Do you use an artificial Christmas tree?

Or

Do you use a real tree?

Edit: When do you put the tree up and when do you take it down?

I'm putting my tree up this weekend. I'll be taking it down after New Year's.

Real, it's family tradition

I grew up with an artificial tree. When I was little, we had a white one with these neat clear bird lights.

That has ALWAYS been my tradition with my son!
We drive to a farmers market and purposely choose a tree that we know NOBODY would want...He names it..always a girl's name..laugh

Getting the tree this weekend..and I take it down a day or two after the holiday.

2' tall fake tree. Just pull it out of the box and all the branches spring open with all the trimmings and light already in place Just plug it in. 1 minute to set up and 1 minute to take down.

When my house burned down in April I lost everything including all Christmas decorations. I had to start all over. I have two trees that look like the ones in the mall at Country Charm. Very cute but small enough not to get in the way. Miss my kids Christmas ornaments though.

As much as I like real christmas trees, sadly I do use artificial trees. Just less hassle - cleaning up the pine needles and having to throw the tree away.

And of course there is the ecological aspect - a live tree would do more good in the forest than sitting in the corner for a few weeks before getting tossed. And no, I'm not a negative person regarding Christmas - I love the time. Just think the tree would do more good LIVING than being cut for a brief purpose.

prolly so if they were just cutting down trees in a forest. But these are cultivated, grown in rows and in sections by age and don't really have much eco system. There isn't that much ecological damage from using live trees

What about when you throw them away?
