I used to allways get a real tree, then I got married and my now ex refused to have a real one, still trying to figure out how I ended up with the fake tree so I just use it now. Think this will be the last year for it then back to the real thing.

I will be putting it up tomorrow with my girls and take it down a week or two after new years

I take mine down a week after New Year's too. I love the lights in the evening.

I'm thinking of putting a train around it this year

That would be neat. I've not that of that before. I do like them though.

When I was growing up my uncle had a tree farm. We use to go down over Thanksgiving and picking out one. Strange how they didn't look as big in the field as they did when we put them in the house. rofl

I don't put up Christmas trees, real or fake. Just don't see the point of all that nonsense.

That has ALWAYS been my tradition with my son!
We drive to a farmers market and purposely choose a tree that we know NOBODY would want...

Oddly, I always seem to choose partners this way.

I am thinking, it is time to be good to ourselves and choose a Big, Full, Beautiful Christmas Tree this year. Let the sad sacks be chosen by someone else for a change.

  I always let the kids choose the tree. We have had an assortment of different types we go out exploring in the snow and find the one they feel is perfect for the yaer and cut it down.

I don't bother with one anymore -- cat thinks it's her personal play toy. After she climbs it and knocks it down one or two times it's not cute anymore. She also steals ornaments and brings them back to you around May or June.

I hadn't put a fresh, live one up for quite some time because my little one has always treated it much the same way. frustrated

This was the first year I'd felt enough love back in my heart to put a live, fragrant one back up, even if it was tiny. That was just after Thanksgiving....

and you still have that love in your heart and you will find this christmas morning waking up and watching your little one open his gifts will have made it all worth while. This holiday is about giving and then watching the joy of others recieve the gifts from you so giving him this joy will all be worth it

Can relate. One year wanted a tree...so put it up in a spare room. Yeah that made sense ---- not. But at least I had a tree up and the cats were frustrated.

Gio,

Traditionally, in most families, the children follow the religion of the mother. It's not just the Jewish religion.

I like the fiber optic trees that light up and change colors.

We had a German Shepherd once whose tail launch many an ornament across the room. Had to go out an buy unbreakable ornaments to hung at "tail height".

Also had a rabbit that like to chew on the tree. Guess she thought she was a beaver. rofl
