What was your first ever job?

How old were you at the time?

How did you get it?

Did anything embarrassing happen during the interview or while working there?

What did you spend your first paycheck on?

First job? Babysitting...age 11.

First REAL job? Telemarketing...age16. My creepy boss was always making blatant sexual advances on me...back before people realized how disgusting that was. (He was in his late 30's) First paycheck? Gas for my car & clothes.

Dishwasher at a place called the Gas Lite Supper Club.

16 years old.

Applied for a job. Any job.

The big boss was the older brother of a kid I went to school with, and he was an even bigger dink than his little brother (no small feat).

Horrible working conditions. Very hot with no air circulation. Had a lull in the dishes once, so I took a quick 2 minute break in the men's room because the air conditioning worked in there. Did nothing but lean up against the wall and cool off, but when I went back to the dishwashing area, the boss lambasted me in front of the whole staff. He said he was told by a gentleman that had been in the restroom that I was in there, and that I had "used the facilities" and walked out without washing my hands. A false accusation, as I hadn't done anything except stand in there. I stood up for myself (big surprise there, eh?), but he wouldn't hear any of it. He deliberately embarrassed and berated me (falsely) in front of the entire staff that was in the kitchen. I took off my apron and threw it in his face and told him to go f*ck himself, and I walked out. About three months later, they got shut down by the health department for various citations. I had the last laugh.

No idea what I spent my first paycheck on. I don't even remember what I had for breakfast today.

First job was when I was... I dunno about 9 or 10 or so.. I would sweep up hair in the salon around the corner from my house and run to the deli for them and stuff like that.. I would get like a dollar each time.. and then at night.. we would completely clean the place.. when I did that I got $5
been working ever since..
First official tax-paying job was when I was in high school.. my typing teacher got me a job at a local real estate office for a couple hours a day after school..
I have no clue whatsoever what I spent my money on back in those days....

My first job,

my dad's best friend and our next door neighbor had a Men's Boutique where he sold top of the line suits and clothing. $500 suits in '73.

My freshmen year I went every day after school to vaccum floors and dust and do the windows

By my sophmore year I was unpacking and hanging clothes

By my junior year I was selling, measuring, and helping the tailor

Senior year I was the lead salesperson

aftr high school I still came and helped for Christmas for a couple of years

I think all the money I made working there was spent on beer and marijuana

My first ever real job was working for the U.S. Forest Service building hiking trails and fire fighting. We would pack in around 12 miles (with all the food, clothing, shelter, everything) and camp for 10 days. Every couple of days, you have to pack up and move the camp further down the trail you just made so it's not no long to get to where the current work is going on at. For the most part, it was pretty cool. The work was hard and very physical intensive, but you got to see a lot of nice scenery and camp out. On the down side, you got sick of eating noodles and dehydrated foods because they are light and easier to pack in. Thunder storms would trigger lightning strike fires and we would have to hike to the fire, put it out, dig a trench around it, and sit with it all night to make sure it didn't pop up somewhere else.

Chuck E' Cheese. I worked in the kitchen, which was cool. I was 18 when I started. And yes, I also did put on the rat suit. What sucked most about wearing the suit was the kids mobbed you and always wanted to pull the tail. Little bastards.laugh It's okay, one day I smacked one kid when nobody was looking. Hehe. I am so mean!

My first paycheck went into my car I had just bought, which was a 1983 Isuzu Impulse.laugh

My first "real job" was at 14 as a bus girl at a tiny romantic resturant. Most embarrasing moment was when I grabbed a hot out of the oven bread plate and burned the chit out of my hand. Dont have a clue what I spent the money on. Probably some dumb David Lee Roth or Bon Jovi poster....ahh youth.
