I havn't had a Christmas with my family for...for so long I can't even remember. I think I was 15 or 16 years old. I've always been somewhere else too many miles to travel or too busy to get back. Now my folks are dead, my family is scattered to the four winds and I don't have any kids so it doesn't feel any different now than it ever did.

I just try to see all the blessings that have been set on me and be happy for them...just like I do every day I'm feeling shorted.

Well I was going to spend christmas with my girlfriend who is now my ex so I haven't thought about it. Mostly just spend time with friends and family and try not to think about the emptiness part. There's always tons of christmas shows on that do bring joy and not sadness. You could volunteer at a homeless shelter I have done that before and believe me you may think you have emptiness, one glance at those people you will realize just how lucky you're even if your feeling alone.

So how do you handle it?

To me, it's just another day. In the bleaker moments, I simply try to remember what the last few months of my marriage were like; and then it feels good to be alone....
