that I have reach a point in my life where I am happy coming on here chatting with all of you... but I really dont want to find a man... I am satisfied with my son, my friends, my family & my job??? I am really much happier now than when I was in the dating scene & I really enjoy chatting with everyone but I havent dated for like six months & have no desire to start again.... is that wierd???

Not weird at all. I've been at the same place for the past year. It's called being happy with yourself and not looking to date for contentment.

I think anyone who has ever been on this site goes through this. You gain so many friends during your search, that the search itself becomes not so important....then it seems the moment you decide you really don't have the desire to search...one of your very best friends calls to say they love youbigsmile      smitten smitten smitten smitten smitten smitten smitten tongue2 waving waving

Wow... my dad tells me that is going to happen to me all the time with my friend Becky... LOL... but no no... I love men... I really like the break I am taking I am just afraid I my never get to the point where I am ready to trust anyone again but I am okay with that too... I hear all the time "Oh if there is one thing I will never do it is lie to you" And then I catch them lying... I just dont want to deal with that anymore... its a waste of my time... ya know?
I sure do....but don't worry Sweetie....Love is supposed to be a complete and wonderful surprise...it will show up when you least expect it...just remember....don't EVER settle for less than "Head Over Heels"....stick to that and you cannot fail...I wish you the best of luckflowers flowers flowers flowers flowers flowers

Good God! What a Honey! If you plan on staying single, invest in a baseball bat to beat the guys away!

this is just a sign of our more "disconnected" society.

why actually go out & meet someone in person when we can
just "chat" online and never have to meet them.

i think it is a sickness myself.

I actually meet alot of people at my job & with my friends & go out & get asked out quite alot... it is kinda a joke at work but I chose not to date... because of the types of guys I am attracted to end up being untrustworthy or dishonest or what have you... I am a very busy girl... LOL!

I don't necessarily agree with this. I could see that happening, but this gal HAS REAL PEOPLE in her life, too. I went for over 10 years not dating or having a relationship, but I've only been into the online world for about 9 months. For all those years, I had a whole different kind of peace and was surrounded by real people, real friends, real family. Being BACK into the dating and relationship stuff the last 9 months has been frustrating, reminding me of how much garbage is out there, etc. I do appreciate my new online friends here, but I haven't disassociated with my REAL LIVE friends and family, either!!!

Sounds like you are experiencing "the change of life" better known as Man-O-Pause.

I don't think it's weird at all -- one thing I learned the hard way was that it's better to be alone than to be the wrong person and WISH you were alone.

I've pretty much accepted the idea that I've used up all my "chances" and this is how it's going to be from now on.

I am going to side with a lot of the others that have posted and say "Good for You'
Happy, contented, no drama, what more do you really want?

No, it isn't weird. It's good to see that there are people out there who can be happy and single at the same time. It's better to be that way before finding someone new to date anyway.
