Topic: Did the Leafs get screwed? | |

Jersey could have played their top goaltender but opted for their
backup instead, thus ending Toronto's play off hopes. Should they have played Brodour or did they do the right thing? |

Toronto Sucks

Nah, the saying still holds strong. Toronto is the only city in the
world where the Leafs fall in spring. The leafs would have been out no matter what. They have not won the cup since 67 not seeing them winning it anytime soon. |

Okay, okay. I agree that the Leafs are a hurtin' team but that's not my
question. Should the Devils have played their top goalie? |

What I am trying to say no matter what gollie they played the Leaves
would have still failed no matter what. They always seem to fine a way. |

2 answers to the original question ....
1) yes they should have played Marty UNLESS he was hurt, as he will not have played for almost 8 days IF he starts tonight ... 2) yes again as its the responsibility of the JERSEY Devils to put the best team they can on the ice as people are paying serious money to come and watch.... BUT i agree the LAFFS would have gotten routed in the first round anyway .... ( altho they do have the Sabres number this year ... ) |

the league has become a joke anyway. years ago, the game would have
ended in a tie, isles out, leafs in. then bettman added ot to make the games more exiting and that didn't work, teams still played not to lose. along comes the shootout. the isles don't deserve to be in the playoffs, jersey was resting their star goalie, and yes, the leafs got screwed. |

If you're going to leave your destiny in someone else's hands you got
screwed- but you did it to yourself. NJ did exactly what I would have done, that is, rest your star players and keep them healthy for when it matters. |
