DarkOwl, that is so interesting!!! I've always maintained that animals have souls. They may not be like ours, but how would WE know, but I see souls in them. That's why this nut hopes that God makes me an angel to animals when I go. I want to represent!!! drinker laugh Yes, I know how I sound!!! laugh laugh laugh laugh

Really? That's contrary to Christian beliefs huh?

Nephesh http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nephesh

Nephesh (נפש) is the Hebrew word commonly translated as soul in English. It literally means the "complete life of a being" though it is usually used in the sense of "living being" (breathing creature).

By the Old Testament, everything that breaths has a soul. If a Christian doesn't believe that all living creatures have a soul, it's because that Christian hasn't studied the subject.

But I guess the problem comes from how people define a soul. A soul is the animating force of life and it is also the mind of the creature. It's personality, thoughts, feelings, etc.

A soul dies with the creature, it is the spirit that lives on in humans.

So I reject the belief that there are "ghost rats" or even ghosts in general, but I don't question that animals have a soul.

Here is a video that beautifully shows that animals have a soul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjWtRYaxmWM

I only watched half. It's not a good video in my opinion and doesn't raise a good point.

1) Clearly the creator feels that animals are equal to humans. If a human gets eternal life, so should animals. Only a very extreme minority of people would agree with that view. To see no moral distinction between human and animal life is a very scary world view. Taken to it's logical conclusion, it would be right to kill a human to feed two hungry lions. Because all life is equal, so if one has to die to feed two then it is justified. scared

2) Heaven will be on earth, that is clearly presented in the book of Revelation. There will be animals, so that isn't a question. But will animals live eternal lives? Yes, but not until after the judgment. The Bible is clear that death wasn't intended to ever exist. So God did want animals to live forever, but due to mankind's fall all of the universe was changed.

again, my question is does that mean all living things including things like ebola virus, smallpox and cancer?

If triangles had gods their gods would have three sides.
