“Thanksgiving”

Thanksgiving is the time to share.
And make the day a family affair.
It’s the smell of pecan and pumpkin pie.
Making others laugh till they almost cry.

It’s the smell of homemade bread in the air.
As we help in the kitchen to prepare.
The turkey and dressing for this day.
For all the family that has come so far away.

It’s about loved ones all meeting in one place.
As we talk and laugh face to face.
It’s remembering times in the past.
As we all sit together here at last.

It’s about given thanks as we sit down to eat.
Knowing this day is now complete.
It’s about saying our prayers to God above.
For given us a family we dearly love.

It’s all these things.
That this day surely brings.
This is what we have to be thankful for.
It’s the love of friends and family and so much more.
