I'm on this other site where you can send winks. I got one from a shadow, a blue box. I don't respond to people with no pic's that try to flirt with me. Anyway, i get two more from her. So i give in and send an email telling her i don't mind chatting to see what she wanted. Well i get this you made me cry? so i ask her way and she signed out. The thing that surprise me was she was begging me to talk with her.

is it getting to that point with people on the net, were you have to beg to talk to somone?

Tell me about it, we never talk anymore, don't know where we went wrong. Yup......I'm thinkin' divorce.

I don't beg in person or online. I always respond to emails even if to say I am sorry but I am not interested.

And I thought the weirdos were limited to the singles bars...

And yeah- I've gotten rather "desperate" emails from others in a similar fashion. They'd also get quite defensive when I'd give my reason for NOT responding to them (no profile pic, etc.) as well.

There are a lot of warped people and players on the net, but you know that. Heck, I am still waiting for my "diamond ring" from that twit that is supposedly working in Nigeria - but then he got robbed, blah, blah, long story. Darn it, just send me the ring, I will keep it safe for him.

Moofooga, It was just kind of strange to me since it don't happe that offen. Glad it don't either. I'm just curiouse where this one might go with this. For me, i never been desperate. So it makes you wonder how people get this way.

Some people are just starved for some kind of attention. It could either be from a lack of attention, or the fact that mommy and daddy were too busy being "corporate" parents... but some people out there are just gluttons for attention.

When you don't "show" them any attention, even via a normally-benign fashion via not returning an email, they end up trying to cling to you.

I'm not saying your not replying (at least initially) was a BAD thing, as you have your reasons for doing so- in fact, I don't reply to anyone without profile pics either- it's just that the one being "ignored" is gonna have you in his/her sites after a certain point.

At any rate, some people out there need to up their meds.

Yeah, Mike, especially after you have only been talking for maybe 2-3 weeks, just generic stuff. Then "went to work in Nigeria" and bought "me the ring." Then on the 17th got robbed, visa, passport, you get the drift, needed money for another. I told him sorry, have to pay for dad's funeral. Why don't you take the ring back. Then he didn't write for over a week. Think I ticked him off. Oh well, "NEXT!!!!"

One person proposed to me (meaning MARRIAGE ) via sitemail once when I was at another dating site. This wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the fact it was the FIRST email she sent me.

It was kinda like, "Hello... just checked out your profile... like music, huh... I like music too...

... will you marry me?".

Needless to say, that wasn't gonna warrant a response from me.

In this day and age, I think you did the right thing, run, don't walk away from someone like that. She may have been serious. There are so many psychos out there, who knows. It could have been an attempt at humor, but if it were, I would think she would have followed up the unanswered response with another mail telling him she was just joking, I don't know, sounds strange.

Yeah. It'd be another thing if the sender had put in, "tee hee hee... fooled you ya big dummy!!! ". But she didn't, and that leads me to believe that she probably wasn't pullin' my chain.
