Lex, I'm not referring to the "shameful exhibition" I have seen those and there's just no excuse for that. I mean the ones their whole 1 whopping post is why cant I find anyone? No one ever emails me. Or "I'm looking for a hot cougar" Or "wheres all da females at? I need 2 of um"  Those are just trashy and I don't mind if they go away a lil mad  Oh, I totally agree -- when you have a guy, for example, whose sole purpose for signing up is to post pics of his "member" -- yeah, we don't need that, that's not what the site is about. I love the people who make one post and it's "This site doesn't work" a day after they signed up -- because they don't have a horde of eligible prospects banging on their doors. They can go away mad -- as long as they go away! Nobody ever said dating sites were the bailiwick of the rational, realistic thinker.... |

Well the main reason I ask this is because I have seen people here beat up on some newbies who may not "know" how things work here But the way I see it is most times we are just protecting our site from becoming trashy  There's true friends here and most people are really cared for and welcomed. And to be honest, when I see some of the posts some people put up... they kinda deserve to be beat up on just a lil but  Re: the beating up of newbies -- There was recently a shameful exhibition of behavior by some members here, who ganged up on a new person whom they apparently believed was the recipient of too much attention (whatever that means) -- I didn't see THAT as a "clique" situation so much -- more like a sort of loose affiliation of different members, some of whom wouldn't qualify as cliquish in the least, uniting for the sole purpose of attacking someone they perhaps were jealous of, or felt threatened by -- a sad display, but I learned a lot by watching the debacle.... i just wonder why they got away with it while others do nothing near that bad and get suspended yes a bit of a clique if you ask me |

Ok, I confess... I picked on the poor girl some, but I didn't think it was just down right mean. All in good fun.

I'm not trying to rehash any one particular situation -- my larger point is that the older members should be trying to help the new people assimilate into the forums....not attack them.
Now, it's true that there are new people who sign up solely for the purpose of causing trouble and instigating unpleasantries. We have mechanisms in place for dealing with those. Report those people, and the problems will be dealt with. But I have seen new people attacked for reasons which come across as specious....at best.... |

I'm not trying to rehash any one particular situation -- my larger point is that the older members should be trying to help the new people assimilate into the forums....not attack them. Now, it's true that there are new people who sign up solely for the purpose of causing trouble and instigating unpleasantries. We have mechanisms in place for dealing with those. Report those people, and the problems will be dealt with. But I have seen new people attacked for reasons which come across as specious....at best.... and the attackers should be reprimanded all of them not just the ones that are not the coolones |

I will admit that. But yes.... I think we are welcoming, overall..... but we ALL get frustrated about certain repetitive threads. We are human.... all of us. |

You can be in mine fran but I have to tell you, it'll just be the two of us  two makes a clique oh people for the life of me - there are no doggone cliques, just people who know each other, interact with each other, have gotten used to each others humor, etc., feel left out, no need just join in. Simple! That's how we all started. But hey if you want to talk about cliques, hey Jill and I make up a clique   and we take turns on who is the cliquee and the cliquer  and nooooooooooooooo we dont clique that wayyyyyyyyyy |
