I see a lot of people (sorry...mainly guys) complaining about the cyber-dating scene...I'd like to know...how many emails do you have to send out before becoming jaded? And do you realize that the jaded attitude is not all that appealing or conducive towards getting an enthusiastic date? Just my observation...

After I posted a few thousand times, I started getting lots of e-mail here, and still do. But I kind of like being jaded -- it's a good persona for me, it works well with my shoes and the whole "world-weary author" thing, you know? Plus, people always write to me and tell me how much they enjoy my constant complaining that I never hear from anyone closer than 897,000 miles away. It's become a "running gag." Conceptual continuity. You can't mess with the classics. |

Maybe I would stop rejecting if people could figure out that a lot of women (yes I am one of them) respond better to mental/intellectual/emotional seduction than they ever will the physical variety. |
