Fran, I can see exactly what you mean.. I guess I am just expecting to see a glimpse of a personality, or an accurate synopsis. It doesn't have to be a book, but accurate, succinct... why is that too much to ask for?

Fun, nice, laid back.... that all means nothing to me. Say you are outgoing, humorous, vivacious, kind, compassionate, affable, amenable... I am all there!

It's not too much to ask for Lilith, but just because one asks doesn't mean we shall receive.

I think I have one of the most well thought out profiles of all time....It says nothing...I know!!!
but if you really want to know who I am you'll take the time to find out. if you dont....its not my problem!!!

I quit reading profiles.....because apparantly EVERYONE is laid back and easy going and funny and apparantly ALL MEN like walking on the beach, even if there isnt a beach nearby.

Nooooooo, that's WOMEN who always state that! I constantly see profiles with "the beach, the beach, the beach". I ain't never even seen the ocean, much less been on "the beach".

I rarely look at guys' profiles (except maybe Dan, but we won't get into that), but I have it on good authority (reports from 57 different women) that the men's profiles are just as vapid and lame as the women's. I don't think it's a gender thing.

You read a dozen profiles and they all say "I like long walks on the beach," the knee-jerk, don't-think-about-it-at-all reaction for a lot of people is, "Hey, if I say I also like long walks on the beach, I will be popular!"

Yeah, you'll be popular with the people who are too brain-dead to come up with anything more imaginative than "I like long walks on the beach."

I think laid back can be a positive attitude. Its better than uptight and stressed anyway. Though i agree its a pretty lame thing to add to your profile unless you clarify it a little.

Which is why i just took it OUT of my profile! lol! Not really, though i did update it a tad when i was bored because i was suspended from posting.

I dont really agree that a good informative profile is necessary. I have always had my profiles filled with utter nonsense, and i have done ok. For non-forum people it is maybe essential.

I don't know....the term "laid back" to me means that you don't sweat the small things. I don't really associate it with being irresponsible(although that is something to think about), but more a general calm personality that is less prone to run into the night screaming about something that isn't really that critical. I would think that the opposite of laid back would be stressed out, and if given the choice between the two I would pick laid back. At least you can save money on your pharmacy bills by not having such a high Prozac consumption rate. :)
