yucky! we dont have much of a problem since Ryan owns, but I could shoot the property tax assessor for raising our assessments which help to raise our taxes... oh wait... hehe I'm the deputy assessor for us! JK We have to watch our own houses extra carefully cause angry taxpayers will notice if we forget to do our own!

Well, I did own my own place. Well, you can figure it out. Yes, us little ants like to share the pain!

lol, yeah, there really isnt a day that goes by that a taxpayer doesn't say something about how easy we have it, we can do our own assessments, and I always correct them, and politely tell them they are wrong, that ours our more critical then theirs because people like themselves come back on us, and some harder then others!

I'm not sure if I prefer renting or living in an owned house. We just had to put a new furnace in a few weeks ago, if we would have been renters, we could have gotten the landlord to pay for it. Plus, earlier in the fall when the house flooded... we had to pay for it to be fixed, and anything else that goes wrong.

I was lucky at my first apartment that I was actually on the lease for, I had great landlords, but unfortunatly there was some scum living in the area, and my apartment got broken into twice while I was there, and I was literally there, asleep in the bedroom, both times!

Yes, I had to replace the roof and other things. But, the property taxes were exempt on Federal! I have had some questionable folk around. But, They tend to leave me alone. I know the gangs will be back when I move.

we have some federal land with some leased houses on them, we tax the houses, but not the land.

I like where I am now, its a small town of 1100 residents. We live in a semi isolated area just off the main highway. most "gangs" or trouble people don't even know our town exists. They congregate about 20 miles south of us in the bigger cities.
