open a thread, read through the responses, see a post from someone you're not fond of and decide to avoid the thread altogether just because they've posted? Omgad I got an email from someone said i scared the OP from her thread... all i said was no thanks =/ |

I'm good sweets... good to hear  Still wouldn't work IMO. Too many people with too many friends who would rate a post at a 10 even if it was something completely inane. Or if that particular post was berating someone else, then it would be nothing more than a popularity contest. If you have enough friends ( are popular enough ) then no matter how many 1 ratings you got, there would be enough 10's to outweigh it. and how do you think a person would make these friends but by participating and being friendly? even still it's just an idea but maybe he people who are able to rate others are selected at random weekly. |

it would be interesting if we could rate each others posts and if users below a certain rating were not allowed to post for a certain amount of time. Then some people would make 30 fake profiles and lock out people they didn't like. Sounds like a bad idea. Free speech is good. Speech controlled by a few people that don't like others is bad. |

You're right Mindy free speech is good... Controlled speech is bad, unless of course it's rude, offensive, arrogant, obnoxious, narsisstic and bellacose, then it should really controlled b/c the majority will obviously have no use for that behavior... Most were raised with manners, modesty and courtesy... JMO
