The Southern Hemisphere is my hearts home.

It's sparse landscape, it's hot and passionate.

It's bold and unforgiving, it's often uncultivated.

It's people browned by the sun's constant rays

and pungent with the earth's fragrances.

My heart dwells in its ocean coves. on humid mountain peaks,

over vast desserts.

I do not weep for the Northern Hemisphere.

It's cultivated landscapes, it's cold and reserved.

It's leach-like soul sucking, it's cultured nothingness,

its people pale by constant raining of thought and

pungent with rotting hearts.

I weep for the South. It's my hearts home.

I belong there, to die there!

I wrote it because I hate when, dare I say, our euro-centric culture equates what we perceive as civilization as the only way to live that has value. When it fact the people that i had the pleasure of meeting from place south are happy with less, they have a richness of spirit we can't duplicate.
