Sounds a bit like when a computer fan goes bad. Should I have it looked at now? Or wait and see what happens? It's a simple fridge/freezer, no icemaker.

Maybe try turning it down by a notch or two?

Why don't you at least call the service folks and ask them if you need it looked at? Did you look at the back and see if the fan is clogged?

It sounds internal. And... now it's quit. Must be fixed!

This I can try. My water bottles freeze when on the top shelf anyhow.

my fridge does that on occasion. in fact, the compressor is so loud that i can hear it operating from upstairs.

i've never had it looked it in about the 2 years it's been bothering me, and it's still cooling food.

well i would suggest cleaning

the dust and dirt from around any part that is dirty

the underside of the fridge collect a lot of dirt and webs

thus the parts run hot and get overworked

Run screaming in circles. That's what I would do.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll go with running in circles screaming since it sounds the most fun.

If it is a humming noise, it's probably cause it doesn't know the words.

Keep calling in noise complaints to your local police department. That way if it DOES break down you will have it taken away for free
