Topic: Movies that change you | |

I saw this list and it made me think about movies that changed me.
Maybe on top of my list would be "To Kill a Mockingbird" I was also pretty deeply affected by "Citizen Kane" not for the same reasons as Trump who sees it's message as about power but because I saw Kane's inability to connect even with people he loved and it killed me. "American Beauty" also spoke to me. Maybe because it caused me to examine where I was in my life too. There are other movies that affected me too but those are the ones that come immediately to mind. So, what movies affected you or changed your thinking? Celeb list below * Seth Rogen, "Clerks" - "It was the first movie I saw where the characters were talking like me and my friends . . . about 'Star Wars' and [oral sex] and what have you." * Steve Carell, "Ryan's Daughter" - "It was the first naked woman's breast I ever saw, and that completely changed my life." * Anne Hathaway, "Pretty Woman" - "When I was 17 . . . I [realized], 'Oh my God, she's giving him a [bleep] in that scene." * Bill Maher, "Where the Boys Are" - "I had a [bleep] for [Yvette Mimieux]. She's crossing the highway and gets hit by a car, because the girl who [bleeps] has to be killed. Cut down like a slaughtered pig!" * Donald Trump, "Citizen Kane" - "Its perspective on power is compelling." * Kathy Griffin, "Working Girl" - "I wanted to be Sigourney Weaver, the boss who orders people around." * Tim Gunn, "Blow-Up" - "[It's] an incredible fashion movie, one that is 9.8 on the sexual Richter scale." * Jack Nicholson, "On the Waterfront" - "I was an assistant manager in the theater in New Jersey when it played, so I probably saw it 12 or 15 times. One thing I knew is that I wasn't going to imitate Marlon Brando or I wouldn't go anywhere." * Harvey Fierstein, "Stage Door" - "I was a fat Jewish kid in Brooklyn . . . I loved the snappy talk, the witty banter. People didn't talk like that in Brooklyn." * Isaac Mizrahi, "The Women" - "It's just dress after dress after dress." * Robert Downey Jr., "The Bad News Bears" - ["It's] about a bunch of weirdos winning, and I really got off on th |

Jerry McGuire- I watched this, and was so fascinated at seeing a sports agent, considered to be the slime of the earth, develop a conscience about what he did for a living and his own life, and how he wanted to change that. How he wanted to help others, and how he wanted to become a better person. I saw this and examined my own life as well, because I too want to make a difference in people's lives.
