Hey guys my name is Brandon. I just recently moved to the Charlotte, NC area and have only been here for a short period of time. In this short time frame I have had three seperate women tell me that they love me. Is that possible? Now some I have gone out on dates with the other I thought I was only friends with. I have only been in this area for two weeks. Has the words I LOVE YOU besome so superficial that the there is no meaning to this anymore. Is it used so profusely that its almost like a daily part of life but no meaning? I was curious what people thought.

The words "I love you" are not superficial at all, as the phrase still has meaning to those who use it correctly - unfortunately, the intended meaning has become innocuous through the overuse of the phrase. Much as people have become desensitized to the proliferation of violence in the media, the meaning of "love" has been lost due to its commercialism value.

Women aren't the only ones that say I love you after only talking a few times, or meeting. I have had several in the last couple weeks try to say the same thing. I just told them there is no way for them to know that. One was out to scam me, one TOLD me to give him my email, and the other wanted to rush things, and I don't do rush.
I think some people say things like that because they think it's what you want to hear.
