i had the same childhood and we wouldn't dream of disrespecting an authority figure or calling them by their first name. But God help the teacher if they were in the wrong and God help me if I was.

since discipline in schools has been done away with, I suggest sedatives in the drinking water...would make teaching a heck of a lot easier...

when I went to school..also back in the dark ages, the "retards" (as they called the mentally disabled back then), had their own schools and their own busses..once my class took a field trip to go see them..it was fun

Heh. The one time a teacher decided to " discipline " me at school...I went home and let my Mom know what happened.

The next day she went to the school and told the teacher, who was quite a bit larger than she was, that if he ever laid a hand on me ( it wasn't a hand that he used. It was a " board of education " )again, she would come up to the school and break that f*cking board over his head.

She also said that if ANYONE was going to be beating on her kids....it would be HER...lol

When I was in 8th grade, the gym teacher swung a 6ft oar. With my kid I would question that but It did sure teach me a lesson.
