I will check them out tomorrow when I get the chance. Thanks again for the great ideas. flowerforyou

I feel the same way, I don't want anyone to cry at my funeral, would rather have them have a big party and have fun.

It is more sappy but we played it at my grandmothers funeral and I think it is a good song.

When I get where I'm Going
Brad Paisley
and
Dolly Parton

I like that one. I was also thinking of "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill.

Here is the list we played at my Dad's funeral my little sister and I sat in her truck for over and hour in the Drive way thinking of songs and listening to them. We choose to go Country since that is what my Dad liked. We picked one of the songs he use to love that I remembered when I was a kid then one I picked and one she picked. These were our choices.

Silver Wings- Merle Haggard

These were the main songs then my Uncle wanted a few songs Amazing Grace and a few others that were played as everyone was coming in to sit down. And then a finally one as they were all leaving. Since my Uncle is a Ordan Preacher and did the service we let him pick those songs. Which he stuck to the more old traditional church songs.

I listed the links to youtube for you so you can listen to them as well the tear jerker was the one by Vince Gil stills brings tears to my eyes to hear it.

My husband and father of my daughters passed away in his sleep July 26, 2008. We are all in a daze still. Our 15 year old is very into music and has the same music taste as her daddy did. She picked music that just said Jeff. Everybody wanted a copy of the funeral mix because it reminded them of what a great person he was and what great music she had choosen for her daddy.

Samba Para Ti'
By Santana, instumental, starts out kinda slow and mournful, works it way into a happy groove. Thats the last song I want played at my funeral.

Really.

Okay, think I have it narrowed down, it is a toss up between "The Dance" by Garth Brooks and
"When I Get to Where I am Going" by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton. My brother already said he wanted "Knocking on Heaven's Door" by Dylan, supposedly my parents liked that song.

I am kinda leaning towards Brad and Dolly at this time, the more I listen to the lyrics, I think it is nice song and appropriate for the funeral.

Thank you all for your suggestions, they were great, and your well wishes. You people are the best!!!!!! flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

Now if you could just plan the rest of the funeral for me, write the obituary, plan the get- together, food, the story for the pastor to read, cure my headache, etc., I would be all set. laugh frustrated Just kidding, but thanks again for all your help. Take care. flowerforyou  flowerforyou
