I think there is a difference between being "in love" with someone and just loving someone. the problem is the English word for love. We have no word to differentiate the love we feel for our friends vs. the love we feel for a significant other. Or for our children. Or for ice cream.

Does it really matter how you know? Don't you just kind of know? What everyone really wants to know is "is it permanent?" And, that has more to do with commitment than love.

Let's face it.....feelings come and go. Some days I love my children and want to be with them every single second and some days I'm trying to put them up for adoption. Some days you will feel that "desperately in love with your S/O" feeling and some days you will not. But, if you are in a mutually beneficial and healthy relationship you stay together. You take care of each other and work through the rough times.

As far as being "in love"? I think Cottonelle hit the nail on the head. It's a wonderful feeling.

When you dont recognize anything in your aparetment. not even your clothes. You Bed is made, and there are no crumbs in it. You have new underwear, because the other ones were gross. you start watching programs you never even heard of. You thought you had plans for the weekend. your friends cant just drop by whenever they want to anymore. You clip,cut,dress,and wash yourself better. You have to think about the future now. which only includes you a little. Drum roll please,,,,,,,,,You have a lot less Sex, but get a lot more quality time
