Does anybody remember Jimmy Hoffa?

My father showed me a picture of my grandfather standing next to Jimmy Hoffa. Hoffa was standing with a small group of truck drivers in the photo.

I think Mafia too. They were still looking for his body a couple of years ago on a farm.

Somewhere in all my books I have a book about that. Now you got my curiosity up. Funny how we brush with history so often in our lives. Doesn't make you think what history your own kids will create?

I've forgotten many things about Hoffa. I remember that he was all about the Teamsters. After seeing the photo, I want to find more information about him.

It was interesting seeing my Grandfather so young and talking to Hoffa. I would have loved to hear my Grandfather talk about it. If he did, I was too young to remember.

It was suspected that Jimmy Hoffa had a role to play in the Kennedy assassination and the mafia murdered him to prevent him from testifying to the House Select Committee on Assassinations.

But one will never know for sure since his body was never found and no one was convicted. noway

I remember when he disappeared, it wasn't too far away from where I grew up. There have always been lots of rumors about where his body is and why he disappeared/was killed.

I was told he's a speed bump on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Wow! I didn't know that he was suspected of that. I knew he was involved with the Mafia and that he fought hard for the union and the Teamsters.

Btw, we had some Mafia occurrences here when I was a child.

One day the windows of our house shook. A member of the mob's car blew up when he started it a few blocks away.

In my 20's I had just pulled out a parking garage downtown, when a car blew up in the garage. It was another mob guy starting his car.

The last place they looked for him was a couple of years ago in Michigan.

It's also rumored that he is part of the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit, and/or is part of the concrete at the Silverdome. Perhaps all 3? laugh

And in the endzone at Giants stadium. And on a farm out in the country.

I doubt they'll find him since they didn't want him to be found. They're pretty good at that business.

Yeah, I grew up in a little town about 20 miles north of Detroit. Where he disappeared from was about 10 miles or so from there. I think the farm they looked at was further north in MI but I can't remember exactly.

He was actually the President of the Teamsters which he refused to resign from when he was sent to prison. He actually brought the Union a long way till he got involved with the Mafia then things started going down hill and he was accused of taking money from the Teamsters Pension Funds and was involved with the Mafia.

So many things that one will never know for the answers to many questions will remain unknown of what really happened to him.

His life is as interesting as his disappearance.

His son is involved with unions now.

Here are the searches they have done looking for his body.

Where is the Jimmy Hoffa Body?

If there was a Jimmy Hoffa assassination, then where is his body? The determination of what exactly happened to Hoffa is still going on today. In 2001, DNA evidence proved that the “Jimmy Hoffa Body,” was in the car of a Teamster associate, Charles O’Brien. O’Brien stuck with the story that Hoffa was never in his car. The police were unable to come up with enough evidence to indict O’Brien on any charges.

In 2003, Richard Powell came forward with evidence about Hoffa’s disappearance. Powell, a convicted killer, told police there was a briefcase buried in the backyard of a house in Michigan. He said that in this case there was a syringe used to subdue Hoffa on the night of his disappearance. However, nothing was ever found. The FBI continued investigations on another Michigan house that Frank Sheeran, a WWII Vet frequently visited. Sheeran was also a Mafia hitman, truck driver, an official for the Teamsters, and a close friend of Hoffa. Once again no significant evidence was found.

The continued search for Jimmy Hoffa’s body has gone on in 2006. There have been several claims that different Mafia hitmen kidnapped, and then murdered Hoffa. There was also a search done in the middle of May, on a barn on what is now the Hidden Dreams Farm in Milford Township, Michigan. On May 24, 2006 the FBI removed this large barn to look underneath it for a body, but on May 30th the search ended with once again no results.
