When talking with her son Matty during a phone call from prison, she hears him exclaim "Daddy!" right before the line goes dead. Libby realizes that Nick could still be alive and living with their son and attempts to get some investigative help. Distraught by the futility of these attempts, she is consoled by a fellow inmate who suggests that she serve her sentence and wait for parole, upon which time she could track down and kill Nick without consequences due to the legal doctrine of double jeopardy. Libby is paroled after six years and begins searching for Nick and Matty while living in a halfway house under the supervision of Travis Lehman (Tommy Lee Jones), a parole officer. Libby violates her curfew and is caught breaking into a building to try and get Angela Green's records but manages to escape from Travis and continue her search. Recognizing an art work in a newspaper photo and tracing it through a dealer's database leads her to New Orleans, where she finds Nick living under an assumed name. Libby confronts him during a party at his hotel and demands he return Matty to her in exchange for her silence about his real identity. Nick agrees to bring Matty and meet Libby in a cemetery. However, Nick doesn't bring Matty and instead locks an unconscious Libby in a mausoleum after a struggle, from which she manages to escape. Meanwhile, Travis has become suspicious of Nick's death and begins to believe Libby. The two team up to try and send Nick to prison and argue with him in his office. In the ensuing melee, Nick shoots Travis but is shot and killed by Libby. Travis promises to help Libby get fully pardoned, as he now has evidence that proves her innocence. Libby and Travis then travel to Matty's boarding school and mother and son are reunited. |

glad i can bring new light to a dieing candel. hope no more butts come along. ill b here to help chase em off ohhhhhhhhh.  you are sooo sooo cool  ...thank you soo much   i don't even know you , but i love you  & appreciate your masculine back up & protection sooo much ...that is so noble & chivalrous of you ..  see, we are supposed to tell the owners & system admin if someone is being rude to us, but i have made reports many times about problem people /// & often times nothing is done to remove the problem, so it makes me have to deal with the problem directly, so they will go away & leave me alone and then i end up getting penalized for someone else starting the trouble... and for me finishing it it is just not fair , and hasn't ever been fair here i doubt if the dude will be making any more personal appearances,  at least not any more rude invasions around me... especially  when you have offered your help & support sorry i missed you again last night ..i passed out i was so tired  THANK YOU AGAIN SOO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR LOVE & CONCERN & PRAYERS MY Daughter is a very brave & noble beautiful young Lady is a hard working very knowledgable and extremely wise young woman among the fairest flowers there are in all the land she is up against a lot of adversity in her life cause of that bad car wreck she was in ... with that irresponsible drunk at the wheeel & other injuries she sustained from that and she is just so happy & fulfilled with her job & her loving man & it is very sad that she is dealing with this other thing now too   and then for someone to come in and harass her Mother  well, it is just not right and the admin  should cut me a Lot of slack & love and understanding for protecting myself and my Family |

i been away for a few days, but i droped by to say hi. i see that all is peaceful
on the thred.  sending payers and best wishes to ur daughter, you, and ur family. i kinda understand wat ur going through one of my grandmas has the worst arthritus i've ever seen and i try to b around scince grandpa got sick n died 3 years ago. my other grandma n grandpa r pushin 70's and 80's and need alot of help. mom she died of a brain anyurisum in 2002. and i was hit by a truck an partialy disabled in 2003. my sister was in a crash in 2004 her and one of my nefews died. it is strange how life can deal the good people bad cards. the important thing is to never give in to the dark lonelyness of life and always strive for the light of love an happyness, no matter the situation. love and best wishes, amen
