Topic: The Promised Land? Obama, Emanuel and Israel | |

It comes down to having radicals, we have ours here in America, everybit as much as there are radicals in Saudi Arabia, Israel, Russia or China. I've heard quite a bit about the Israeli Zionists, who seem to act quite a bit like the NeoCons blood cult members we have here.
My problem with Rahm is that he is a Judas Goat, he plays like he's a progressive, but is in reality a wonk for the same kinds of foriegn policy of a Richard Cheney or a Bill Kristol. Hasidic, I'm glad to see you adding your thoughts here, you are in a unique position to educate, I'd be more than happy to read anything else you'd have to say about this blind support of Israel that American interests seem to have, regardless of Israeli actions. What does everyone think about these dual citizens and first generation naturalized citizens being set in positions of high power in our Government? |

I think it is wrong.
Our Constitution clearly states that only an AMERICAN, born on AMERICAN soil can be our president. Since when did AMERICANS become so lazy and incompetent that we can no longer wrong our own government? Arnold did fine at first, now he has made one of the wealthiest states beg for a handout... I am tired of actors and wrestlers assuming they know more about government than the people who are in it. We all make mistakes, that is life. I am a big fan of politics and have been asked to be a public speaker for the rights not just of particular races, but also for the fairness of others. Bearing in mind, immigration is a touchy subject with me, as my ex was an immigrant and my daughter was an immigrant in Israel and we had a bit of a scare when Israel said they would deport her if they didn't receive any apostille stamps. (trust when they said that, I probably shouldn't have laughed in their faces and said 'you're sh!tting me! Apostille died in the time of Jesus!') I think dual citizenship is fine. On one condition. They abide and take pride in the country they are in at the time. Don't be waving your flag in my streets. If we let you become a citizen here and enjoy the lifestyle that entails, keep your flag at home if it ain't red, white and blue. You will not see me flying the Flag of Israel on my porch. (I have my flag on my wall in my living room. Out of sight unless you actually come inside and go to that particular room.) You will not see the American-Israelis waving the American flag on their balconies in Israel. But, on the day of the walk-out, all the Mexicans were flooding our streets, waving the Mexican flag and singing their anthems. (I was living in LA at the time. Couldn't even go to the store to get diapers for the princess, as we were blocked in my them). I am all for immigrants getting some benefits. However I see it as this: Come over here illegally and hide and be stupid about it then we will treat you as you were treated at home. Come over here and apply and put for the effort to be treated equally and we will give you all we have to offer. I know that myself, if I was to immigrate to Mexico, I would go through the proper channels. I would do whatever it took to become a Mexican citizen if I wanted benefits. I mean, I had to do that just to become an Israeli... And they are way more harsh than America if you take into account they were going to deport a 4 year old because her mommy didn't know what an apostille stamp was and almost didn't get it to Israel in time. She only had 3 months to get it done from the time we landed in Israel in July. Maybe America should start being that strict? |

Maybe America should become that strict... you might be right.
We've got an assimilation problem in this country, we've stopped expecting immigrants to actually become American. We've taken to celebrating foriegners cultures while not allowing certain groups of Americans to celebrate theirs ( I defy you to find a prowhite anything that isn't decried as racsist.) I'm of the opinion that the dual citizens being given positions of power in this nation aren't holding America interests at heart. |
