Midnight in the garden of lost love

I gathered up the morsels of my body
And hung them on my heart
I slung a moment on my back
And called it by name of dark
I flashed a smile at the crow
And he followed me into the night
I lifted up a memory
To see better in the moonlight
Something elegant crossed my path

Something about missing you
And missing the sound of birds
Something about missing your arms around me
And your healing touch
Something about a never forever
That would always be too much
Because forever is just long enough
To miss you more than I should
Especially when you still stand beside me
Wishing me love and such
And wishing me to touch
The fierce spirit that you are
That dwells on my enigmatic thoughts
And my riotous ways
My severed heart has found you everyday
Bleeding into your cup of memories
Throwing hidden runes of meaning to the wind
And falling on stone beds
Only to raise myself up again
To look into your eyes
You I will never despise
My midnight whisperer
My muse never confused
My mystic heart of past love and new winds of change
What is it I seek when I seek you here in the midnight hour
When my sight is seared to the touch
And blinded by mists of time and colored veils of yesteryear,
If you loved me once kiss the sky
If you love me now
I must say I still know
Because I touched the muses wings so long ago
My caress has left its mark on his heart
And now I want nothing more than his kiss
His never ending grip
Sanity or insanity
Is neither here nor there
Something called me here
And I know it was his voice
His sweet embers burning in me
His sweet shadow upon my mind
Some silky sliver of kissing souls oh so sublime,
Goodnight my midnight lover
My midnight craving
My silver tongued whisperer
My last soul catcher of the binding light
See you on the sunrise
Taste you in the wind
Tomorrow is your heaven
Tonight is my sin.
