This place is in dire need. Too much idle chitchat going on here that
has no interest to the "general public," as it were.

It was already suggested, and it is not going to happen anytime soon.
Kinda happy about that as I have a hard time following them..lol. I like
forums, if I wanted a chat room I would go to Yahoo or something like
that.

I have to agree with ((((((((whisper))))))))) on this one.. I prefer the
slower pace of the forum.. easier ta follow cuz I'm a slow typer

I'm new here and trying to figure out where everyone is talking at.I go
to these forums and they are allways several minutes or hours ago that
someone commented.I see several people on line. Where are they all- or
are they talking privately on IM.
Dazed and confused here...

Ms.Teddy, these forums are usually pretty active. I think the time that
is posted on the threads is PST I could be wrong but that is what I
think. But welcome to the site.

Forums and chat rooms are two different things. Personally, I think
people should take personal "conversations" to Yahoo IM or wherever.

When a thread has a specific topic..say...global warming...and it
reduces to "Hey, can I see a picture of your ass?" or "How's the family
been doing?" Or, "Girl, I just got my nails done." Or "My baby cut her
first tooth." "Oh, yeah? How precious!" yada yada yada...it's time to
take it somewhere else.

If, for example, I see that topic about global warming, I don't really
want to have to weed through page after page of personal chit chat in
order to read the subject posts.

Jean you are going to find that where ever you go, whether you are in a
chat room or in a forum.

I agree with wisper. However I do like the chat rooms when i'm extremely
bored. These forms though have given me time to get to know a little
more about everyone on here. Or at least reconize names. LOL!

whisper...you do find it everywhere you go but some places discourage it
more than others. It's one thing to stray off topic somewhat..that's
just gonna happen and it's fine with me...hell, I've even been guilty of
it.

But when a forum discussion turns into a chatfest that has nothing to do
with the subject at hand, maybe it's time to start a new thread?

Or perhaps a forum category called "Cornucopia" or "Smorgasbord"
...strictly meant for that purpose ... should be created.

If I wanted to be in a chatroom, I would go to a chatroom, lol.

Human nature.....thread's stray off course but eventually find their way
back on topic.

I for one would not be here if Mike and Van ran this place like a
neo-nazi site that you are not allowed to speak unless spoken to or get
flammed when you stray off topic. If a topic goes so far off course but
I want to continue the topic....I walk away and check back later to see
if it's made it's way back.

Sometime's I prefer idle chit chat while other time's I prefer
discussion. I go where I find what I feel like participating in.

I like this site just the way it is.

this site is very nice.. i like how it operates.. I think threads are
better than chat rooms..

I'm against ANYTHING that would make JSH even a little more like
MySnakes. In fact, I'm thinking about asking VC & Mike if we can do
away with profiles completely and turn this into a banjo auction site.

Mike & Van have done a great job on it & it's come along ways in a short

Yea the threads get off topic. because there isn't enough people to
keep them going, it a mixture of lack of people posting & that only so
much can be said.

there seems to be a real problem of wanting to control the natives &
play Master Moderator here. please feel free to check out the forums on
plentyoffish.com & bookofmatches.com

they might reach the high standards that you've sought.

If you highjack a thread in anyway it's deleted, you get warned. your
hand smacked in the forums & then told to take any responce you might
have private. not that it matters & threads get locked & moved for any
lil thing.
