When I have to open a public washroom door on the way out, I either have a paper towel in my hand to grab the handle, wait for someone else to open it and quickly follow them as they leave or grab that big metal thing at the top of the door and pull on that to get the door to open lol.

I wash my hands alot but other than that....I think a few germs are good for you. Builds up the immune system. We need a bit of bacteria to be healthy.

If I leave the house, I travel around in a giant hamster ball so I don't have to touch anything.

Good Lord. I think I am gonna have to revise my profile a bit.

Someone who is a germaphobe would NEVER be able to handle being in my apartment. It's not a pigsty ( as my mom used to say ) but it sure as hell isn't spotless either.

Clean freaks drive me absolutely bugsh*t.

Ya know. It really wouldn't surprise me to see something like that.

Don't people realize that they are making themselves MORE likely to get sick because of that kind of phobia?

i'm apprehensive about touching hands with strange men. I have this notion that men don't wash after using the bathroom as consistently as women do lol. Also, men would go pee anywhere, anytime, and where there is no soap and water around... bleh sick

Where I come from, men are taught not to pee on their hands.

My brother's house is the only house on his block with absolutely no leaves on his lawn.He has a tree in his front & back yard but his grass is crystal clean. If he gets up and looks out the window and he and see's ONE on his lawn he will go out in his p.j.'s to pick it up.I watched him one day smack the branches he could reach with a rake, then toss a football up through the branches ,then clean them all up ..this so that they did'nt fall while he was'nt home. huh

You'd be surprised at how disgusting women are. Especially while working in the service business, I was shocked to see how many women (customers) would go to the bathroom, and then just use the mirror to primp instead of washing off their pee hand before they walked out to go finish their dinners.

Wow...I should copy all these posts and show them to my kids who give me no end of grief about my wanting the house tidy and what I consider decently clean! They have no idea how good they have it...

and I am feeling a little bit like a slob now frown and I confess a little admiration for those of you who have the discipline to do what you do! Do you hire out to help us wanna-be's?

I do handle public bathroom faucets/doors/etc carefully though... so maybe there is hope!

Here's something that will make you all cringe:

At my gym, I use to occassionally use the sauna. I'd go in there with a towel around myself and wear sandles - trying to be as sanitary as possible. Some fat old dude walked in there with no sandles, completely naked and just put a paper towel down to sit on. After sweating for a good ten minutes or so, he got up and left - while leaving the paper towel laying there.

*shudder*

holy cow, I'm kinda OCD.

I flush public toilets with my foot too. And after I wash my hands I use a paper towel to open the door.

I wash my hands around 30 times a day. No lie. One reason is cause I'm in the food business, but also if I touch money. EEK.

I clean my floors at home 3 times a week. I'm always looking for dirt on the floor. I can't stand to walk barefoot and feel a speck of dirt on my feet.

Im a freak.

Nope all of that is normal. Nothing OCD, but if you didn't work in the food industry and washed your hands that many times than you might be.

Exactly true. It is proven that children that live in hyper-sanitary environments have more health problems such as asthma and skin conditions.

I don't use Listerine, cause it kills millions of germs on contact......I don't want millions of dead germs in my mouthill ......I will close my mouth and smother a few hundred:laughing:

my OCD trait..

i have to eat skittles, m&m's, Reeces pieces, any candy of color.. it must be seperated into color piles and eaten in pairs of colors.. if there is an odd ## i will leave the extras for someone else or throw them away..

they used to get a kick out of it at work.. they bought me a 5 pound bag and dumped it on the counter.. waited till i had finished seperating into the piles and called me away.. and swirled my piles back together.. after the third time i threw away a whole 5 pound bag of m&m's
scooped the whole thing into the garbage it was driving me insane!
lol

And I thought I was the only one with this particular quirk. I've gotten some weird looks from co-workers before but never what you described. I also got this thing about my food not touchin on my plate. smokin

I am extremly organized and clean. I make sure my desk is spotless without any paperwork put away before I leave work at the end of the day. When cleaning house even hate it when someone puts trash in the now clean trash liner. The bathroom drives me insane!!!!!!!!!!!

 Good one!

I don't think foot-flushing is OCD...more like common sense, really. I don't want to think about germs all that much...it would drive me INSANE!
