Not getting enough hours become a good reason to quit a job?? Maybe it's just me but I think some hours is better than none...

What I don't get is when people use that excuse and quit before they have another job as a back up. How much more stupid can you get?

You are right. That person will biotch.... I had to quit, they didn't give me enough hours...
Here is the deal. They either left for another position that was full-time or they honestly thought they deserved full-time and would rather leave than be treated like a part timer. Translation = not good enough. Scary, huh? |

I've never quit a job without having another one ready and waiting. Like I said, some hours are better than NONE

No, it means they have entitlement issues, Jilly.... they think they are too good for part time. Please please call them up and offer part time positions...

If I was only working 16 hours a week I would quit because I need at least 40 hours to survive. How many hours were you giving this person???

I know people who have left a job because they weren't getting enough hours. Though, they had another job lined up beforehand. I don't really see the point in staying a job that's not going to give you enough hours.

I have quit jobs before for not giving me enough hours. I did secure another job before I quit, but "not enough hours" was the reason I left.
If I wasn't given enough hours, I didn't make enough money to pay my bills. I think it's a fine reason for quitting. |

That happened to me. I told people I left due to poor management. In that, I was hired at 32 hours a week and given 16, so I left. (New job in hand) I never said, "Not enough hours"..... why would I take a job with not enough hours?

Well it usually happens when someone is promised a certain amount of hours or shifts, and the company fails to keep that promise. At least in my experience. |
