What are some icebreakers that have worked for you?

i just don't find that first call awkward- if ive been talking to the person online for a while and we are pretty comfortable with each other- the conversation just flows. its pretty cool actually hearing the voice behind the face.

i find if it feels awkward its cuz im not really all that interested in the person in anything other than friendship.

but you can always comment on the last thing they said before you began the phone conversation or just jump right in there and ask when do you want to meet- ok maybe im a little aggressive- sorry lol

haha well actually met my sweetie in person before we talked on the phone... we had previously just texted and emailed a lot... but I don't like phones so he respects that and a few days after we met we actually chatted on the phone for the first time, so no awkwardness

ummm but I think the meeting is more awkward than the phone conversartion, I just don't like phones much

I practically insist on a week's worth of phone calls before I will meet someone in person. Mainly because I'm really good on the phone and people love me after a week.

Of course, then we meet in person and they want to stick that steering wheel on my back, and everything goes to hell.

I think maybe I'll just date people on the phone from now on.

I hate the first call.......it helps if they talk more....I just giggle!!!

I don't give out my number until I'm ready to talk to someone on the phone. So, no, the first phone calls have not been awkward.

That might be why it was awkward for me. The guy I just talked to, we'd only chatted online for a couple days. Not really much to go on so far. Might be a good idea for me to change the way I'm doing things right now.
Lol, I don't think I'll ask to meet him yet. I'm still a little gun-shy about meeting guys until I've gotten to know them well..and even then, public place, drive separate, etc. (Had a bad experience about a yr ago.)
