Why do people use etc. when writing about themselves in profiles? How does that tell strangers anything about them? I've always found that to be kind of strange.

I see many profiles that say things like "I like music, reading, etc." or something similar to that. To me, that tells me nothing. It makes me think they were just too lazy to bother, so why should I bother with them?

Maybe they know nobody want's to read a run on paragraph. Perhaps they should learn how to use punctuation.

I mean....are they for real ! I can't make it through the long winded. When I see that, I just move on, I figure they are way too self absorbed. Check out my profile.
