When I moved to California after a couple of decades in the south and having grown up in the south I had a heavy accent. I tend to talk slow and drawl anyway because of a brain injury. I am frequently told I had a very sexy voice. People would literally follow me around in the grocery store as I talked with my Dad or other friends. It made me very self concious and always embarrases me when someone comments on it. Many people who have very deep voice have had throat cancer or other injury so it is a very personal remark and can be recieved many different ways. Even if the person smiles and handles it with grace it may make the opposite impression you want to make.

i guess it's best to keep it to myself then huh
