my question has always been, how come the cameras that are filming the team never pick up anything? and my second question would be does their equipment or the film crew alter the findings by making background noises (purposefully/not purporsefully)?

Mimi, to partially answer your question, they can usually identify ordinary sounds like their own footsteps, breathing, equipment bangs, etc because they hear it so often. What they are looking for is stuff that's out of the ordinary. However, as they are human, I'm sure that there are errors sometimes. It happens to all of us, dang it
