I need advice from someone who has been to Saint Croix recently. I thought I would need a passport, but was told that a drivers license was all I will need. I sure don't want to get there and have trouble coming home....anyone know for sure from personal and recent experience?

Ironically, I just looked this up last night in case I'm sent there on a job soon. From my understanding, the new laws don't effect the Virgin Islands because they are US territories. If you are a US citizen traveling directly from the US and then leaving in route to the US, you will not need one, but might if you are traveling to or from via any other country.

Check this out.

I haven't been to St. Croix, but I lived in St thomas for over two years. Loved it! The British Virgin Islands are only a ferry ride away and worth a visit, but you would need a passport to travel there.

Was there in 2002 on a rock n' roll cruise...Cigarettes $10 a carton! Fifth of rum $7 bucks! Stock up and have fun on those sandy white beaches!...PS...watch your wallet for PP's! (pickpockets)
