I see quite a few people around here saying that they " have to be hit in the head " by someone before they'll realize that the other person is interested.

I'm the same way. I never really even think about someone being interested in me. I'm not sure why that is. I know that it's not because I don't think I have anything to offer. I know better than that. I know that I am a decent looking dude. Even though I have been told by some otherwise.

So. With that in mind, I pose this question.

Why does it seem to be so difficult for some of us to realize when someone is showing interest?

* By the way. I am not looking for any kind of positive affirmation about my looks or what I have to offer. Any compliments will, of course, be accepted. But that's no what I am looking for at all.

its sometimes hard for me to notice when a woman is interested in me, but lately its like ive improved there and noticed how women have shown interest in me.

I think because we arent looking for anything.....so when it does happen we dont always recognize it because our brain isnt in the "mode" yanno???

I read them and my normal response is " Ummm...what??? Who??? " lol

Well...a female friend told me that I play " hard to get " and that's why I don't really realize that someone likes me.

My answer was that it's possible that I do, but in no way is it a conscious thing.

I guess....let's put it this way....

I put myself out there for whoever may be interested. But when I get contacted by someone, I always assume friendship first. There is no thought, on my part, of the person being interested in anything more than being friends.

I'm not really sure why that is. I do believe it's probably cost me a couple of opportunities, though.
