Can someone tell me what the requirements are for opening a bank account
in Canada? I'm a US citizen, and goto Montreal often enough that I think I'm going to try for a job there. Next visit, I'm going to open a bank account - what stuff do I need? -Mike |

Got a green card? LOL I'm from Tx. I think all you would need is
some$$$$. Any country will gladly accept greenbacks. |

Pretty much all you need is sufficient ID, money, and maybe an address
in Canada. I'm from NY but I go to university in Toronto. They grumbled a little bit that all of my ID was out of country, but they set up my account, and I think they even sent my bank statements to NY over the summer. |

Squire: Thanks. Thats what I'm planning to do, hoping to make a mix of
business & relaxtion. Sushi: Nah, you'd be suprised how many countries would prefer their own currency. In fact, I've only been to one country that would rather take US than their local currency. Even Canada will begrudgingly accept US currency when you're near the border. |
