are you still under warranty? have you contacted dell if u are?
laptops generally need to be serviced if internal or connected to the motherboard is the issue.
if you are out of warranty, do you have anyone local that works on puters?

ahhh gotcha...well #1: go to dell.com and check their support link, see if there's anything for your laptop, recall, or anything about it. see if they have a forum and if anyone else has complained...

if nothing else, check through your "network" of friends, family...there's always a tech guru somewhere that may be able to take a look at it for ya

i had one, paid 1600 for it, the usb port part broke off, and the ethernet cord spot broke too, good thing it had wireless tho. right after waranty is when the things broke, and they wernt covered, we bought a new mother board off the bay for like 60 bucks and swapped it out and sold it for 600, lol. bought a dell desktop and it has actually been pretty good

Listen, being a computer technician all I can say on the subject is that Dell is the hardest f#ing thing to work on unless you have the proper tools, software, and "Dell Certified Parts" otherwise all I can say for them is the my local trash collector works better than any dell computer be it laptop or desktop.

warranty is your best option....they have people who will come to home to fix them.....

But the real question is...who hasn't had a problem with a DELL....????

Been using Dell notebooks for years without much problem.

Are you using the network port? If not, try disabling it in the BIOS.

I have had several dells (laptops) haven't had one problem. I have also repaired numerous dell desktops for coworkers. Mostly spyware and virus infected pcs from guys who do things they shouldn't and have no clue to the malicious stuff that's out there. Why do they insist on using Internet explorer?
