I don't really care for the New Mexico style of rellenos though. most of em I've found have more of a corn dog batter. I like em lighter than that
I did find a really cool recipe for green chilli pancakes though. batter and fry the chilis and then pour the pancake batter over em and flip |

They sell them in California at the grocery store parking lots. OMG Hot and fresh so tasty. Easy supper after lugging groceries in the house.

I love the smell of roasting chilis!!!!
All along South Federal Blvd. in Denver, thats where I remember the corner vendors setting up. Now I roast my own locally grown green chilis, and poblano peppers. Not as good as out West but you make the best of what you have. Now for tamales its the Tamale Kitchen in Lakewood CO. Small greasy joint, you can get a dozen tamles and a quart of green chili for less than ten bucks. That would be a date from Heaven, a woman to teach me how to tamales and I'll share my green chili recipie. True Love. |
