And for Thomas27, each presidential candidate addresses this country with every speech, public appearance, etc. they make. They both make a "statement" to our Nation with every bill they have supported/opposed, their experiences and stances in the government positions they have held and so on.

It goes far beyond their 15 minute "claim to fame"...if only you and others would pay more attention beyond their one-time address to the Nation.

I believe you took it a little out of context there. My post about addressing the Nation was full of sarcasm.

However, I do agree with you about how the Presidential candidates address our Nation with every speech, appearance, and so forth. One of the factors in my decision is, who in my opinion is the best reflection of the American People. I mean, when he's there in the White House making decisions that affect our Country globally, they will not be pointing at Obama or McCain, but at America as a whole. In other words "us".

Are you aware that many other countries already like Obama?

Yes, Iran liking Obama is a scary thing!

Bush against Al Gore was a tossup of two overstuffed turkeys. Bush without 9/11 would have been a one term president. Bush against John Kerry was the evil you know verses the evil you don't.

Does anyone really care if Osama Bin Laden is captured, killed, or vaporized? I don't. I'll be shocked if Obama brings any significant number of troops home the first year.

Telling me I should vote for Obama because Bush was incompetent is like saying I should date a new woman because my ex was a witch. In both cases one has nothing to do with the other. The Bush presidency is over. McCain will not lose because of Bush. He will lose because he's John McCain.

I find Obama to be very genuine and caring. He has proven he is calm, strong, and capable. McCain on the other hand has some serious issues that make him someone to turn your vote away from. Age, mentality, V.P candidate

but charisma does not make a good president. look at clinton. great charisma, but screwed up everything he touched internationally. even his domestic "triumphs" were largely right place at the right time.

voting should be about the candidate's ideals and how that will affect the nation. I personally feel that while obama is much more charismatic and personable, his policies are foolish and are not going to put us in the right direction.

People sure had a lot more money in their pockets when Clinton was President. I don't remember high unemployment either.

I'm not doing too bad now, have money in my pockets, and have stayed employed.

Clinton screwed up? define screw up laugh

Ok, losing the majority in Congress because your policies are out of touch with the will of the American people is screwing up. Monica Lewinsky was not screwing up. Otherwise, the usual politician's blatant cronyism aside, Clinton did little harm and tried his best to do good.

I am so moved by the people in the audience who are moved to tears by his message.

I cannot remember a time in history when this happened and it is a sight to see.

I watched Michelle today and had tears come to my eyes from her message.

It is just inspiring.

This is probably the most disgusting thing I've read all day!ill

It doesn't scare you that people are getting so sucked in to his message? There is some tunnel vision going on here!

Women used to faint all the time when Michael Jackson was on stage!

To bad Obama isn't singing Thriller

I'm remembering that it wasn't women that fainted when they saw Jackson. It was the teeny boppers.

Divine Intervention from Lord Obama???

I was at this Halloween type dance thing tonight and they played Thriller! I almost fainted!!!

I worked when both were President believe it or not and I must say that I'm doing better today than I was then. I actually got a $3.00 an hour pay raise last week. I got a $0.50 raise when Clinton was in office which put me in another tax bracket and I didn't bring home as much every week afterwards.

But..we were able to buy very, nice homes and toys. Toys like boats, jet skis, hot tubs and more then one car. And still have money left over. It's more difficult to do now.

You're really going to compare Obama to Michael Jackson? An accused child molester? They're nothing alike!

Michael Jackson is white!

Really, you can't tell me that Biden is getting the same beating Palin is getting from the Media.

He is putting his foot in his mouth every other day and it's just no big deal.

While we're hashing it out I wish more people would get off their respective cheerleading issues and admit that they'd vote for their own party even if their candidate was on life support with no brain activity. Obama is just a young man with a gift for delivering great speeches he didn't write. McCain is an old man with a lot of experience and a whacked out idea of what constitutes good judgment.
