I thought rap music began as stupid...didn't realize it had just arrived. +1 no, rap before the whole gangster thing with NWA was awesome... though I guess a lot of that was hip hop too... either way, NWA's thing killed any new rap for me. bands like run dmc, sugarhill gang, early public enemy before they got wrapped up in the gangster rap thing, and beastie boys are great artists that had staying power and something to say... not the crap now where there's one "good" song/album and they disappear. |
