Topic: HEY DO YOU BELIEVE EVERTHING HAPPEN FOR A REASON | |

It may not "happen for a reason" but you can use just about anything as a learning & life experience. I just figure there are no mistakes...a little different philosophy, but still similar overall.
Yep...my rose-colored glasses are shined up and working :) Aren't they AWESOME??? |

I've watched things happen in my family, deaths, sickness, bankruptcy, and break ups.And I believe that all these things happened to make us stronger. My wifes mother died when she was 5 and if that had'nt happened we would have never met.If things that happened don't make you stronger..your atleast supposed to learn something from it....Well that's what I think anyway

I kind of think most things happen for a reason. Maybe not all things. Sometimes we won't know it right away but usually over time things make a lot more sense. Sometimes even the very painful stuff.

When I robbed that bank, it happened for a reason.

sometimes yes, sometimes no..hate to equivocate on this..but i've seen both...as far as the latter...JFK made a heartfelt speech on it..i read it once..but was never able to find it again..went on to say something to the effect of there is no explanation as to why someone returns from war intact..while someone else loses a leg, or an arm...and some even don't return at all....it's all sound and fury...

Is this tRUEe does everything happen for a reason Here's the problem -- if you believe that everything happens for a reason, then WHO or WHAT is it that designates the reason? Exercise in semantics -- "reason" requires a "reasoner." Someone or something making the determinations about "A happens because of B." There is cause-and-effect. Jim throws a rock at Bob, Bob has a bump on his head. There's a reason. But if you're talking about the more ethereal instances -- nah, it's just stuff that happens. No reason, no cause. In a for-all-practical-intents-and-purposes infinite universe, anything that carries a non-zero possibility of occurring will eventually occur anyway. No reason to attribute it to fictional characters, myths, and goblins.... |
