I have always been one of the "do it yourself" girls, insures that things get done...used to make the ex mad...think it's because he realized that I really didn't "need" him

Not sure how women think you are gay, I sure don't. And maybe just MAYBE men feel intimidated, because they use to the tools being there domain. I mean you know how a lot of men are with there tools. I am sure you have seen an episode of Home Improvement, maybe even 2 or 3. It is like a lot of women with there shoes and purses, men enjoy there tools, and the feeling of being able to man up and "try" to act like a man
 .

Wouldn't intimidate me at all -- I applaud anybody -- woman, man, dog, orangutan, duck -- who can operate "outside the box" without being overly self-conscious about it.

i have always enjoyed doing that kind of stuff,, but, got into it more when i came home to help take care of my dad,, and things needed to be done and/or fixed,,, the roof, the car, my truck,, and he can no longer do it,,, as far as the husband(s) go,, heaven forbid if either one of them did things like that,,, and if they did,, they made such a production out of it,, i just started doin it myself,,,

Maybe its just an "ice breaker", and they all think that they are being the "sensitive" guy by saying so. Not realizing that every guy has said it...lol Its hard for me to believe that most men would actually be intimidated by it, but would rather compliment you on it in their own boyish way. JMHO.

cant help w/glasses because then I wont be able to see
nothin like a good strong hot cup of java to get ya goin in the morning,, thank you , lady! 
and, too funny about the glasses,, sunday,, mom went and got the stuff for me to mount the flat screen television on the wall,, and i had to use her glasses to read the damn box! then she could not see,,, guess it is time to get a new pair,,,
