Even if Obama was a Muslim what is the big deal? Don't we live in a country that allows freedom of religion. Have we forgot that the very founding fathers fought against religious persecution!

Whatever Obama wants to believe in faith or even have no faith is fine with me. The main thing is that he is interested in trying his best to communicate with Congress on resolving problems for the people.

Can he do this? Will he be able to pass legislations through. Will he bring our troops home or will he continue the track on the war like Bush is doing?

We all have opinions, but hopefully we have one thing in common. We all want this country to do better. Bipartisan is the only way!

and if Congress doesn't work AGAIN, then maybe the people should finally look into getting a strong third party that truly works for the people of this country.

Obama did says that he visited the 57 states, Is he talking about the 57 states of Islam. Hmmmmmmm

And there is my OOOOPS thread, where he was talking to George and said "My Muslim faith"......

He was being sarcastic when he referred to his muslim faith because that is what people keep saying untruthfully.

I still believe that any people who are willing to entertain these thought are hiding their racism under these other umbrellas. It is my opinion of course but there seems to be no other reason for them to continue to be so hatefilled if they are not racists.

You know I hear a lot of it's not working talk here along with name calling and blame.

What's missing here (I think anyway) is any attempt to find common ground. The closest people on this forum have come I think to that was in the first days following the news of the big economic collapse. I was not a member following 9/11 so I am not sure what the climate was then on the forums.

I've done some thinking about this and I have a question for you all.

My question is...if you all cannot discuss issues, weight varying approaches and find common ground how can you expect politicians to do that?

Aren't you all smart capable human beings? I know many posters regularly state they are smarter than the so-n'-so's in Washington.

You all know don't you that one of the reasons statesmanship, negotiation and reason have rapidly disappeared from Washington and state governments is YOUR FAULT.

Why do I say that? Look at what you respond to?

The sheep who respond to attack ads, to silly **** like Jack talked to John once and because John is a bad guy Jack must be too, voters who rarely or never bother to read any in depth discussion of any subject but instead get the "news" from slanted talking head commentators be they dems or rep...you are all to blame! You respond to the politics of division.

You want real solutions to our troubles? Quit responding to the divide and conquer mentality. Because I have news for you. While we are busy pointing fingers at each other and dwelling in the red and blue mentality we are being robbed of our collective future by those that seek to profit and move on.
