A Curse Bestowed

The sunshine,
How wondrous it was
And the kiss from a lover,
Unbound by love.
Her passion virily flowed
And wraped him within
The sweetest of tones.
Her loving gaze,
Set his heart to hers.
Together they'd wander
This place called forever.


Darkness came and storms were small,
He thought that love
Would last them all.
The shadows spoke of lies untold,
They tore upon his very soul.
She masked as death,
Came creeping low
And took what love
She hath bestowed.


He cursed himself
As days went by,
Sunlight fled,
He lived by night.


His words were heard
As fear ensued,
The shadows quaked
As night was moved,


"Look upon my heart, nevermore!"
"I've locked and chained it
And sealed it's door."
"This scarred old flesh be cursed this day,
Forever cursed and locked away."


A lingered stare, he thought to feel
And hastened to the shadows keep.
A sigh he heard that fade away
His heart had burned to see this day.
He knew so well what love may show
But knew the hurt that sorrow sows.

To his curse,
So bound and true
Shattered by
A love imbued.

Faith renewed, an opened door
To ease the pain from years before
To restore his sad and broken soul
Turning a smile this little droll
Dancing about to gain his smile
Lending comfort, an endless mile
Of silly smirks and pillow fights
Giving his journey new insights
Extending knowledge from the past
A new door now opening fast
Enlightenment of things to come
Leaving the past on a setting sun
A horizon waits beyond today
An endless journey, come what may
Be it a smile, a heart so true
To offer comfort, bring a love to you
For now it's just a banana cream pie

A friendship offered, an extended hand
A curse lifted, a fire fanned
To bring a smile to his face
Giving light, laughter in it's place
