I am always amazed by human attempts to discredit the Bible translations as something sinister or conniving. It doesn't discredit the heart of humans who know the love of God for His children. Here's the "what for." To know Him & understand the fellowship with Him for all humanity is the heart's call for every believer who expereinces God's wonderful love & grace.

For centuries, many Christians were not permitted to read God’s Word in their own language. Instead, they were encouraged to attend Latin services that few could understand.

Then, in 1516, the Dutch scholar Erasmus compiled and published the first New Testament in the original Greek language. This landmark work was the basis for the later publication of Luther’s German Bible, Tyndale’s English Bible, and the King James Version. These translations made the Scriptures understandable to millions of people around the world.

Erasmus could not have known the influence his Greek New Testament would have, but he did have a passion for getting its message to laypeople from all walks of life. In the preface he wrote: “I would have [the Gospels and the Epistles] translated into all languages . . . . I long for the plowboy to sing them to himself as he follows the plow [and] the weaver to hum them to the tune of his shuttle.”

The prophet Jeremiah reflected this same passion for the Word: “Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your Word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart” (15:16).

I don't believe tongues are a bunch of incomprehensible jibberish spouted out that no one can understand, as if the one doing so has a special walk with God.

The true Pentecostal Tongue will be understood by all who hear it, In their language and dialect even. It will be the same tongue that the Holy Spirit speaks through his elect in the end times as witness against the Anti Christ. All will hear, and many, even the nay sayers will believe and come to Christ

My mother spoke in tongues constantly when I was a growing up. She spoke in tongues in the day and she spoke in tongues in her sleep sometimes. She spoke in tongues at most everything she did at one time or anotherI grew up around it and the people at the churches we went to spoke in tongues.

Some people do have a special walk with God.

Yea do you know that the scholars have admitted the scriptures or NT was translated at a later date to greek. Thier are so many phrases that are hebrew or Arimaic that it had to of been changed. The words Yahshua spoke when dying they left alone because they did not know how they could translate them. The Apostles were unlearded men . The only ones shown to of had musch schooling was Luke and Judas. No doubt alot has been lost in the translation to greek..Shalom..Miles

I agree with you. The only reference I remember from the bible about speaking in tongues was when the apostles did it and everyone heard it in their own language. I don't believe in all that random jibberish stuff.

My point was that there are those who want to dispute the translation of the Bible into many languages so people can read it for themselves for understanding...those with a hunger to know God. The implication is that there is something cynical or sinister in the translations instead of people wanting to bring knowledge of God to the world.

As it happened in America, it works! So where's the gripe?

The miracle was not the speaking the miracle was the hearing. Just as it is today

Are you implying that you don't believe in the scriptures that say signs & wonders follow those who belong to God? How about the miracles performed by Jesus as well as in His name? How about the references to spiritual gifts as per the Bible?

Even Jesus said a nation divided cannot stand Miles.

I just stated a point. Does Faith not come by hearing. Yet hear they will not understand nor seeing. Those all are miracles. I have experienced Miracles many times. I know they are here. But who has faith for them as he said will he find faith on the earth? If he doesn't then will he find miracles? Blessings...Miles

I get what you are saying...it's very true. That's why they call it "The Living Word."

The gripe is not taking the same source to translate into another language. Then not transliterating the names in the Bible. If your name is George here is the states in Russia it will still sound as George with thier language making the proper sounds. Thats a Huge Problem in our Bibles..shalom..Miles
