I honestly can even understand how anyone can admit to being a republican at this point.

When McCain picked Palin, my father (wise man) said that if he were a Republican (he's an Independent), he would be embarrassed to say he was now.

and THAT is our biggest problem in this country. Half the country happens to be Republican and the other half happens to be Democrat (roughly) and neither will admit the others the right to believe as they choose

well there is something to be said about conservative values, ya know a balanced budget, self relience etc etc yet we have seen none of that the last 8 years.

How did the volunteering go? I helped register some voters, back in August.

First time out I did poll work door to door, tonight they had a meeting at a persons home and the county dem organiser was there. We got a sign up sheet and we all got more poll work ahead and some phone work and i also get to work the election booths on election day, have another meeting saturday morning to get our exact areas and addresses. the cool thing is there is a single gal about a half mile up the road from me who also is a volunteer and insisted I call her tomorrow she is cute too

Its so funny I live in a semi rural area and I thought I was the only single person on my road and out of the blue this chick who is a democrat and active in politics lives about a half mile away. small world.

I did alot of door to door work today for the Obama campaign and I was suprised pleasantly at how many people are voteing for him. Most of the people I met seemed like they wanted to vent about the current state of the country. Many told about family members who are raceist and are still voteing for Obama becase things are that bad. Many also said Sarah Palin was a big deal to them and caused them to lose alot of respect for Mccain. This one guy in particular with a 4X4 in his garage and a pop up camper said " If Mccain is supposed to be so smart why in the F*** did he pick her for VP? I am predicting Ohio goes for Obama

Another day on the Obama trail. The saddest thing was knocking on a door and haveing a nice looking lady answer it and when we got to the part of "do you know who you are voteing for" she said "I am being evicted in 3 weeks I will never vote for Mccain" It was verry sad. The wierdest one was a guy in a run down trailer who seemed confrontational and said Obama was a terrorists and had us all fooled. He was a crazy old man for sure. I smiled and said your voteing for Mccain then? and I thanked him for his time.
