who knows about it?
i do. just keeping you on your toes.

if you have att, the hacker you give your number to may spoof your number using voicemail. att doesnt verify authentication through pin # (like most other carriers). they verify through cell phone number (i.e. if you are calling from your #, it must be you, right?). theres a certain program that can "spoof" any given cell phone number. lets say, att for example. calls that number (like you would call your voicemail). now they can listen to your viocemail. if you dont have att, dont worry about it. they need to know your pin.

yeah I have at&t and it bothers me a bit that I don't have to enter a pin to get to my voicemail. seems odd.

who had the bright idea to set it up that way?
I just switched to at&t and with my old company I had to set it up in my speed dial to enter my pin...which was still a tad uncomfortable...not only could anyone check my voicemail as long as they had my phone but it displayed my pin on the screen...

because att never thinks ahead. they never thought someone could pretend to be someone else. even though phone hacking is older than computer hacking. they still dont get it.
